Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address and password. Passwords are hashed by our authentication provider and are never stored or visible to us in plain text.
• Your pronunciation profile: the name you enter and the audio recording of your name. This is the core content of the product.
• Payment information: if you choose to remove branding from your email-signature snippet, payment is processed entirely by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details — only confirmation that a payment was completed.
• Usage information: basic technical data (such as IP address and browser type) collected automatically by our hosting infrastructure for security and reliability. We do not currently use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

Your recording is public — by design

The whole point of SayMyName is a shareable link. Once you create a pronunciation profile, your name and voice recording are accessible to anyone who has or finds your public link (for example, at saymaname.com/n/your-name) — no login required. Do not record anything you aren’t comfortable making public. You can replace your recording at any time, which immediately replaces what visitors hear.

How we use your information

• To provide and operate the recording, hosting, and sharing features.
• To process payments and maintain your account’s paid status.
• To communicate with you about your account or respond to support requests.
• To detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms.

We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to operate SayMyName, each of whom processes data on our behalf:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage (including your audio recordings).
• Vercel — application hosting.
• Stripe — payment processing, if you make a purchase.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account information and recording for as long as your account is active. We don’t yet have a self-service “delete my account” button or a support inbox set up — account and data deletion requests aren’t available yet. We’re working on adding a way to reach us, and this section will be updated once that’s in place.

Security

We rely on our infrastructure providers’ security practices (encryption in transit and at rest) and follow reasonable practices to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security.

Children’s privacy

SayMyName is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If we become aware that a child has created an account, we will remove it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. We don’t have a support contact set up yet to handle these requests — check back here as this policy is updated.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product changes. If we make material changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
